The time I tried to get a car
Aug. 19th, 2007 10:30 pmWho knew buying a car was so hard, ones I've wanted have had something wrong with them and therefore shot down, just as I look forward to getting it.
1. Astra: Older one in my price range had the ugliest interior ever, newer versions are quite pricey and I'm not that big of a fan of the exterior, but I do like it's interior.
2. Viva Sedan: Turned out to not look that great, so I decided upon the hatchback.
3. Viva Hatchback: My Dad's co-workers told him a few people came in and complained that it used to much petrol, so that was shot down and I was even looking forward to it.
4. Mazda 3: I'm really in love with this now, interior and exterior look hot, only problem? Out of my parents price range. For the Neo model which is the lowest it's $22,000 which is the highest my parents want to spend, but we went today and they guy told us it's $26,000 drive away, which is too much, mind you the one he was telling us about had some extras added to it, but still after all the stamp duty and what not it worked out to be too much. Stupid Government tax. Looked at second hand options for this car, it was still $24,000-$26,000 for the 2004 Maxx Sport model (3rd level up, lowest being Neo, then Maxx), which is the older one, and still they where very pricey, good if you own one because it doesn't depreciate much, bad if you want to buy want. My brother worked 12 hours shifts for a week, and he said they taxed him 400-500 dollars, meaning he only ended up making about $800-$900. My brother was like dead by the end of the week, he was pulling 6PM-6:30AM shifts.
*Sigh* Any car suggestions? Nothing very small, ie Holden Barina, Mazda 2 (which I think is ugly, though the newer ones aren't as bad as the boxy old ones) or Toyota Yaris (NOT a fan of them). PS sorry if totally dissed the car you have, but everyone has different tastes, for all I know you might hate the cars I considered. I WANT A ZOOM_ZOOM CAR DAMNIT!!
